My Journey So Far

As I take a moment to reflect on my coaching journey in the exhilarating realm of field hockey, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunities, experiences, and incredible individuals I've encountered along this enriching path. Each coaching role has not only shaped my professional career but has also contributed significantly to my personal growth.

My coaching expedition began back in July 2012 at Stone Hockey Club, where I had the privilege of being a Holiday Camp Coach. Little did I know that this initial step would pave the way for an extensive and fulfilling career within the field of field hockey coaching.

Over the years, I've had the honour of coaching at various institutions and clubs, each tenure adding a unique dimension to my coaching style and knowledge base. From Staffordshire JAC Assistant Coach and Goalkeeper Coach to my recent positions as Talent Academy Birmingham Coach and Old Halesonians Men’s Performance Coach, the journey has been nothing short of remarkable.

The commitment to nurturing talent and honing skills led me to assume roles like the Worcestershire Academy Centre Lead Coach and Stourport HC Junior Lead Coach. Working across different age groups and genders has been a testament to the diverse challenges and rewards that coaching in field hockey presents.

While my coaching journey has been one of continuous learning and evolution, it's also been about embracing challenges and adapting to various coaching environments. From coaching at Keele University HC to roles at Queen Mary Grammar School and Wolverhampton and Tettenhall Hockey Club, each setting brought its own set of dynamics, allowing me to refine my coaching methodologies and strategies.

Furthermore, my stints at Barford Tigers, Harper Adams University HC, and King’ School Worcester provided me with invaluable experiences, shaping not just my coaching techniques but also fostering a deeper understanding of player development and team dynamics.

The journey hasn’t been solely about coaching on the field. Serving as Warwick University HC Ladies 1st Team Manager and assisting as a Warwick University HC 1st Team Assistant and Goalkeeper Coach granted me insights into team management and coordination, complementing the tactical aspects of coaching.

Every coaching role, whether it was in a club, at an academy, or within a university setting, has contributed to the coach I am today. Each interaction with players, fellow coaches, and the larger hockey community has been instrumental in my growth, both professionally and personally.

Looking back at this incredible journey, I'm humbled by the wealth of experiences, the bonds formed, and the impact made within the field hockey landscape. As I continue to tread this path, I'm excited about the prospects of further growth, learning, and contributing to the vibrant world of field hockey coaching.
